Devotion 11-28-23 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 1 Peter 5:6. If you belong to God, if you have asked Him into your heart and asked Him to forgive your sins, if you have done that, then you still have to decide if you meant it, if you firmly, forever meant it! Life will challenge that decision. Adverse circumstances will challenge it. Good offers of good times, will challenge it. The decision to follow God, brings more decisions, daily decisions. The big decision each day is, "Who was in charge?" If you attempt to be in charge, if you delude yourself to think you can be in charge of your life, then you set yourself up as a god. You find that you are resisting the God in your life. However, if your decisions rest with Jesus, in God, you have determined to let Him be God, trusting Him minute-by-minute to manage, orchestrate, your life for your best and His glory. Humble yourself, put God above you, and allow God to do whatever it is that will be best. When we stand up to God, we tell Him we know better. It may seem as if God does not know best; but, He is either God or not. Humble yourself under His mighty hand. There are reasons for things that He knows and we do not know. Do you trust God? It has to be either yes or no. If He is in charge, if you humble yourself under Him, then nothing that happens is an accident. It is all under His control. He will lift you up at the right time. He does all things well!
